Taken in January 2005, just south of Perth, Scotland. I looked out the window here late one evening to see a “cloud” of luminous green oriented downwards – “that’s no cloud!” and 5mins later I was a couple of miles away in the middle of nowhere on the road south of Moncrieffe Hill, admiring the pretty greens and reds :)

How long can you weep in silence? / Soon, the pain will be unbearable. / If you’re not careful, you’d lose your mind.. / And maybe even, your life.. Every now and then when I feel a bit stuck for good single shot inspiration, I like to create something odd. This image was the result of one such time…

Another technical interpretation of the same theme as / And so autumn died The fading bright colours and the blurring of the leaf all represent the end of autumn and the coming of winter. As winter comes, more “white” seeps into the image. You can view all this on the level of the seasons, but it also represent our own faith in life. Whatever I do in art, I always have to smuggle in some symbolism. ;) Unfortunately I was playing around at a low resolution when I created this, so, cards only.

Check out www.selectivecolors.com. An interactive, resource site for photographers and artists who use and are interested in the art of selective colored photography. The quote is from the beautiful song, “Imagine” by John Lennon – “You might say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope one day you will join us, and the world will be as one.”

Around, all around, the shadows gather. / My dread grows as an avenging sword falls against my naked / soul. / It smites me, and darkly my vitae drips to the thirsty / earth. In my madness I dance, while nothingness hovers close. / Now alone, my supplication falls upon cold eyes. This was writen by my friend Liam_Lime who asked me to illustrate it for him. I hope you like it darling. TY Out of the shadows into the light. Through my work reborn. / In my Nightly Ritual. Model by MJ Ranum / background and all other images by LFR

A section from Arlington West. An ongoing display of the casualties in Iraq to protest against the war in Iraq, and increase the public awareness regarding the military and political fallout of staying there. Each Sunday morning thousands of crosses, as the number of the fallen, for that day, are placed in the sand and volunteers are providing the public with up to the moment information on casualties plus individual stories on the fallen. This image was taken at memorial day 2007 as a tribute and memorial and as a cry for peace… Digitally manipulated image. What does the title mean?! / ... / By night: This chair sits nonchantly at the front door to wife’s parent’s home. / ... / By day: Danny, the farm dog, sleeps here whenever he isn’t working. / ... / PS. Shot at night, no flash, long exposure to capture all the colour. Now, how to describe this? Or should I just shut up, and let the poetry of the image speak for itself? This triptych was created with my old and trusty Minolta Dimage 7HI and has been heavily photoshoped. Both to create the framing and to create the light effects that surround the leafs. The texture, leafs and shadows are real. :) Another version of the same theme can be found in Autumn becomes Winter

I’ve been posting some of my more serious work just lately in the form of the Neverland Collection and its been a hectic journey with all sorts of responses….mostly good but also some that have been really testing and unpleasant….. so I thought I post a few lighter things just to break up the feel of my work somewhat. This digital image goes right back to when I first started to learn how to use Photoshop in 2004 and was one of the very first manipulated images I produced. Actually there is a series of them which I made into an animated gif that was really quite charming in a naive and pretty sort of way and this is a still from that work. / The background was shot at a friends place early one frosty morning and the girl is a stock image….
