Was washing the car as the sun was setting and noticed how cool the water looked as it beaded on the roof. I was pretty happy with the shot as i was only using my Canon EFS 17-85mm IS USM. There was no editing in this shot only cropping

When self timer counted down to zero, well, just a nano-tad before… I dropped the two tangerines into a water-filled aquarium with blue paper background. Flash triggered as timer ran out. Idea came to me in a very wet dream…

Original Background Photo / It took me about 3 hours to figure out what to do with the original shot, and another 3 to complete it. I had to improvise with with brushes (i.e – the mermaid’s tail is two plant leaves worked together), but I think it turned out OK. Based on a story I wrote a few years ago about a mermaid being the guardian of dawn. / / Foliage brushes created by me from photos.
