Sweet Dreams

This young Gorilla dragged it’s blanket over under the bush, laid it down,and just laid himself out for a bit of shut eye in the warm morning sun,he had such a sweet smile on his face,l wondered what he was dreaming about!

LOL! I suppose they can dream happy dreams too, right? I wonder if there’s anyone who knows, at least when they’re in REM sleep and wake up in a good mood. It would be fascinating to get any response at all from someone other than a human regarding dreams! Great capture!

Thanks Lenny,l was having that same thought when l took it,they are so very much like human’s it is astounding,it was almost very sad to see them in a enclosure,l think maybe he was dreaming of the wild?

At the Zoo in Calgary back in the 80’s, there were some guys making fun of the Gorilla, they drove him into a fit of rage and he threw himself at the glass, everybody screamed and were running in a number of directions, he didn’t break through the glass, but it was shattered badly people’s laughter quickly turned to sickened fear….After the glass was replaced they tinted the glass and people were monitored and told how to behave, and look them straight in the eyes. Primates give me a real powerful emotional experience, such an intelligent animal.
