Transition
Looking South as the sun sets across the Southern Yorke Peninsula in South Australia on 29th Jan 2008.
Highlights the transition of colour from the dark horizon up into the sky. Clouds that are nearby are dull and grey while the distant and higher altitude clouds show transition across shades of pink and orange.

Hi kia3,
Had a bit of back and forth commentation with a fellow “bubbler” from Aldinga, SA last night. He has just uploaded two shots of this very same sunset taken around 20 to 25 kms to the east of me, almost at the same time!!!
His name is Glenn Anderson and the two shots are here and here too .
Go and have a look and see what you think. I reckon both need a significant cropping of the dark foreground which I am suggesting to Glenn. Do you agree or disagree with that idea?
It is iteresting to note that when you look at the shot from Glenn’s first link above with mine side by side how similar they are. However, i definately feel that the colour af Glenn’s is much better than mine!

I did contemplate that before uploading it to “my bubble”... I had cropped off around 1/10th of the image at the bottom because that was very dark. I have gone away from the 2/3rd-1/3rd concept because of that darkness to put dominance on the skyskape…I tend to agree with the cropping from above but feel hesitant about any cropping on the right… I will give it some thought.
