Finally able to view the “Tip” of Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland, after about a kilometres walk from Frangipani Beach!!

PS: Still not at the very “Tip” yet!!

Thanks James! That end bit is an island a little further out from the actual Tip and no, I don’t think there is anyone living there, but there is a lighthouse on the other island, maybe someone lives there? It’s very close to the Torres Strait Islands and Thursday Island is about 30km away.

Not far from here is Possession Island, named by Captain Cook when he landed there in 1770 to formally take possession, in the name of King George III, of all the lands along the east coast of Australia which he had surveyed.
