Having just read your recent comments, i can understand more of the emotions in this painting. They say to me that there is love and hope mixed with frustration and sadness. It is a truly beautiful painting.

Love this…. He is in the How did I get so lucky to be here position… Figures if he removes his hands he’ll wake up in a nightmare…
BillyLee, 8 months ago
Hey LocoCow, you are being too nice. He is actually fed up with his wife peeping out of the bedroom window , naked and exposing herself to the gardener! He just doesn’t know what to do about it anymore. He is crying!!!1:)

bonnard yes it him this reminds me of? i have come back to this because it is so ,well done, all be it, a story, between two people, and none of any others, consern, still it wants a short story,so we can give love and care for the plight here, what is going on, how can we help these two lovers, when it is emotion, not body that is queston here, to open is what makes, lovers and relationships, grow into, compliteness one and one making, all, barriors come down, and two being, one for the needs of the one together, having been married 38 years to my late wife- i know how long it takes to,trust our lover with all our fears from our past life before we knew them, so this is a story , not a painting, in need of telling, but only to each other

I love the brushstrokes and the light and colour you have painted here…and most of all the story it tells….so rich and personal -makes one feel like one is peeping into your private life and seeing bare emotion revealed.
BillyLee in reply to Estelle O'Brien’s comment, 4 months ago
You are right now one account Estelle, David has that look going on quite a lot of the time…poor man…

Easy to see where you want to go… toward the light and outside as the man covers his eyes pretending it isn’t happening. You have made something very beautiful out of something that is very sad. Beautiful painting, heartfelt and courageous.
