The Trumpet shall sound
1Co 15:51: ¶ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Th 4:13: ¶ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
I was working with a combination of an image I got several years ago from a newspaper story about the shroud of Turin. The original image was very poor and I had to recreate the face using the newspaper image as a model. Then I worked with I worked with Micrografx, Photoshop and Apophysis to create the finished work. I experimented a little and got several works that I really like. I hope you enjoy them.
Although we do not know what Christ really looked like because the Hebrew people did not draw or paint images of anyone because it was against their religion, we do have ideas we have formed based upon legend and theories that have been passed down through time and have become a generally accepted image that comes to mind when we think of Christ.
This series is inspired by scripture from the Holy Bible. This is the sixth of nine in the series.
Scripture gives us hope. It tells us there is a day coming when we will be changed from this body into a wondrous body, pass from death into life in an instant, in the twinkling of the eye. Whether we are currently alive when it happens or our bodies are in the grave, we who have put our trust in Him will inherit eternal life with Him.
Although the word rapture is not used in the Bible, it has become the accepted term that refers to a spectacular event to take place in which the believers will be caught up into Heaven, a time preceded by the sounding of a trumpet…and we will forever be with Him in Paradise.

This is really good. It makes me think of Jesus, back then, in the good old days.

Such intriguing yet complicated simplicity … I know that sounds strange but that’s the way it comes over to me … the complication is the many parts and shades of Jesus’ life and the simplicity is the way he showed us how to be!

Thank you Anki. I would have loved to be one of his disciples then. But it is never too late. Now is a good time to make into the good old days. xxxx

You are so right on Jen, wise words indeed. It reminds me of how simple salvation is and how complicated some religions work so hard to make it complicated. Amen
